Ekornes Stressless Recliner

A friend of mine had one, it kept coming apart where the legs attach to the base, and he wasn't heavy either.

Bought one for the wife a couple of years ago, she loves it. I've sat in it once. (that's all she allowed).

Anyone here have any experience with these?

I've had one for such a long time that I don't remember what year I bought it. At least 15 or 20 years ago. It still works fine and is very comfortable. No problem with the legs, and I'm fairly heavy. Mine looks very much like this picture:

So anyone have a hint of what we might be looking
at price wise?

Thanks for the replies!

I'm thinking $1500 - $2000 range, depending on model and fabric or leather.

The closest dealer is a bit over an hour's drive, so I'll add a visit to my "to do" list for the next trip to the Cities.

I had been thinking of getting a recliner, but wasn't familiar with these until I had the chance to sit in one last week.

I love the Ekornes design where when you recline back it tips your head forward slightly so you can still watch TV, read a book, or cruise through our forum comfortably. Awesome design but hard for me to spend the same amount for a single seat as a whole leather couch.

We bought a pair of them back around 2009, between 2010 and 2014 my wife went thru pacemaker implant, the opened heart surgery (included mechanical heart valve, artery by-pass and heart ablation, then total knee replacement. She basically lived in her chair, slept there, etc. They are really great chairs.
