Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Earmuffs

They don't work for me. I had my wife try them and they work for her so it's me and not the muffs.

Any thoughts?

Background: I have about 30% hearing in my left ear and 0% in my right ear. And I am going to attend Grant Cunningham's revolver course in early November.

I'll contact Kim, my audiologist about this and see if there is anything she can suggest. She's an NRA gal. In the meantime I'm open to any suggestions from the nice folks here.

I'm not a fan. I can hear that there's "something" to my left or right, but how far behind or in front I have no idea. I have to remove them to tell. I keep them in my truck and use them as regular muffs.

Always admired those as well as the walker series. Finally put those sets on...and was immediately glad I bought Peltor instead. They felt cheap and sounded hollow. Get the Peltor 500 and add the gel cup. It’s more speedy but worth it. I wear mine during competition season coaching and it is sometimes 3 to 5 hours with them on. Night and day in comfort and sound.

I have been using the Howard Leight for over 10 years, and they work fine for me. I always remove my hearing aids before putting the muff's on. I can dial them up or down for volume. My hearing loss is 10-15% from having been a jet engine mech in the USAF back in the 60's. I had previously used some "Browning" brand muff's that took a separate battery for each ear, but they weren't as good as the Howard Leight.

I've been using the following Howard Leight muff since November 2018, or almost a year now and like them a lot. With those, I don't need to double up with in the ear foam plugs when shooting under the covered pistol range even with hot 357 mag or moderately hot 44 mag ammo.
