Today I received an email from the S&W Forums saying that I have been remiss in posting here at the forums.

Truth be known, I don't post much, I generally lurk and read!

I am not a S&W only type of person, and really don't know that much about them other than they seem to be completely trustworthy in the 2 firearms I own that are smith's.

Since I don't know much about them, I don't have a lot of advice to give, but I do appreciate this forum and the knowledge I have gleaned from it.

So I am posting this here to stay in the good graces of the forum "gods". :)

I got the same kind of e-mail and I post on here a fair amount.

I got one that was from another forum saying that they may delete me since I have not posted there in some time. I replied that it was fine with me as I go there seldom if ever any longer.

I got one not to long ago as well. Funny thing is I post all the time!!!
 
I've received that same kind of notice....

Mostly asking me to stop posting...:D
 
I got the same email, it was from that "other" S&W Fourm's. Since I post probably a half dozen a day on here I emailed them back that they could go ahead an delete me as I had too much fun on the "real" S&W fourm.

That email was NOT from us.
Since I bought the forum in Dec, 08, we have sent one email. That was when we moved in June, 09, and it was to inform members that we were in the process of moving, the forum would be locked, they would eventually see the new location, and that their passwords would have to be reset.
That was the ONLY mass email we have ever sent.
If you receive an email from us, it is the result of an action you originated- like a password reset.

We have no reason to tell a member his or her account will be deleted for inactivity.
Why, that almost seems UNfriendly.....:D

Lurk or post as you like.
 
Gee whizz, guess I need to say something. I have a couple Smiths and like to "listen" to what the experts have to say. I shot my 442 and my new Glock and several other handguns today. Did not want to clean the HP so I left it in the box.

I got the same notices, and in the interest of remaining friendly with some of the folks who once were regulars here, attempted to login and participate, but my guess at a long-forgotten and disused password was rejected, new PW requested, received, and I still can't get in, so, adios amigos. I gather that my "account" will be closed. Will this go on my "permanent record"?
