I am a retired, former collector/bubba-izer of firearms. Unloaded most of what I had and am only keeping what I like to shoot. My S&W herd now consists of 3:
Model 59 - bought this used in the 80's for practical pistol shooting at a local level. I probably put 10,000 rounds through it with a new recoil spring for the only repair
Model 2206- plinking pistol - it has been nowhere near as reliable. finicky about ammo, finicky about cleanliness, goes through extractors regularly. My wife won't let me sell it.
Model 586-1. Got this last summer for 100 bucks and a Ruger SP101. Absolutely superb shooter; somebody did a real nice trigger job on it. Finish has several little rust spots that I am still trying to fix without ruining the rest of the blue (I'm good at that)
