I was at my LGS a couple weeks ago and ran across this Engraved M66. It got my attention and since it was there on Consignment, I thought it was fitting to make an offer. Well my offer was accepted. I had no idea who had done the engravings but what I like about it is that it's not overdone.
The research began and I came up empty at every turn. No engravers signature or anything except this one thing that was different.
There was this little tiny Wagon looking engraving just under the S&W Rollmark. I ended up on an engravers forum and wouldn't you know it. Someone knew who the engraver was. My M66-2 got the attention of Mr. Roger Bleile who just happened to know the engravers mark as Mr Vernon G. "Vern" Wagoner. How about that. I think my purchase was a pretty lucky one.
