Ciao to all forum members, i'm "ENNE-FRAME" a new member of this community, i live in Rome Italy, i proudly own a severl number of Smith & Wesson revolver pre 1980, my preference falls on snubby or short barrel N frame, better if they are nickeled and unfired, my dreems is a 38-44 Heavy Duty 4" nickel finish, impossible to find here in Italy.
My personal handguns for self defence are: GLOCK 19X 9mm, Colt gov't 45ACP, S&W 629-4 backpacker, in the ankle a S&W 37 with tyler t grip adapter and bobbed hammer.
Long gun for home defence, Benelli 121 M1 semiauto 12x76, Itahca M37 12x76, Steyr AUG 223.
Love good food and wine, single malt, belle donne, arts, antiques forniture, italian motorcycle of seventiees, sixty and seventy rock music end when i have time for me i make offroad trips, best if only with my wife, in a wild northen area.

ENNE-FRAME: ENNE is the right pronounce in italian language of the letter N, in english the right pronounce will be AN

Ciao, and welcome to the forum from South Carolina.
My family came to the U.S. from Abruzzo and Caserta, and I'm going back to Italy with a daughter and granddaughter in a few weeks.

I started to ask you what would have been a really stupid question but then the whole "name" came together for me! N Frame!!! Clever. ;)

If my count is right that is 7 guns total - that immediately gets my attention because I think of the entire world as being restrictive on firearms. You have all 4 "main kinds", revolvers, pistols, shotguns, rifle.

Plus you carry concealed!

Can you give us a quick 3 or 4 sentence summary of Italy's firearms laws?

I've gone there many times, but this is the first time as a "girls" trip, and first time on an escorted tour. Be 16 days, and yes, we always eat very well there, even at the Autogrill on the Autostrada!

In Rome, we always get the most delicious Cornetto at Dolce Maniera, Via Barletta 27.

Ciao from Idaho, Marcello! I was fortunate to have lived in Vicenza for a time. My family came to the US from Italy...the town is Avigliano down by Potenza.

You have most excellent taste in S&W's and firearms in general. Welcome to the forum!

I thought I would share a picture of a recent acquisition here; a 3.5" Model 27-2 from 1967. I like it very much.

I just LOVE the Autogrill on the Autostrada! I seem to stop at every one on my route and at a minimum grab a cappuccino or macchiato.

in Italy you can own severl firearms, divided into classes
class 1) 3 handguns for self defence, only concealed, if you show one without reason the police turn you in jail. You can carry on also all togheter but all concealed.
class 2)12 firearms handguns or rifle or shotgun to use for sporting shooting, all kind of shooting.
class 3) ulimited number of rifle or shotgun classified to hunt.
all rifle or shotgun in Italy is to hunt also AR15, AK etc.etc. the oly ban if for the fullauto, so all rifles are without fullauto selector.
furthermore if you exceed a number of firearms of 1 or 2 class you will have a collector licence, with the only ban referring the cartriges.
from 1990 to the 2000 my Smith & Wesson collection was over 300 revolvers. Good years.
P.S.
the 37 is my wife's revolver but if necessari i carry on it in a ankle holster.

G'day from Sydney Australia.

Thanks for the info on your gun laws. I take it that you need some sort of a licence before you are allowed to purchase a firearm? Or can anyone just go into a gun shop and buy one? Do you need extra training or qualifications to carry concealed handguns?
