Ever Keep Funds Available For That Special Purchase?

Thanks! A funny thing to me is most of us will check out the stats, mileage on a car compared to another before buying, maybe drive jammed up in discomfort a small car, and still own a almost unused boat or motorhome, travel trailer or whatever that just sits most of the time and costs a fortune for the little use we get out of them!

I'm old-fashioned and still use cash for my day-to-day purchases. A neat trick I learned during Y2K (remember that?) was to pull all the ones and fives out of my pocket at the end of the day and put it in an envelope. It's amazing how fast it piles up (much faster than saving change). So, I typically got funds barring a recent emergency, and if I don't, the fund builds back up nicely in a couple of months.

Well , just in case they don't take check or plastic , or whatever else may happen , I always keep at least 1 $100 bill folded and hidden in my wallet.

I always try to have a modicum of "emergency" money ready. Seems to be diminishing.
Paid off the 05 Tahoe recently and it's turning into a moneypit. Oh well, such is life. Ya always pay one way or another. :D

NO WAY!!
My Wife and Daughter can sense any "Hide Out Money" i might have.
There for I have to rely on my awesome good looks and sex appeal.

It'll be a long long wait for that gun you want if that's what you're relying on........................................................:D

Absolutely! Guns or motorcycles.

I am ready to pounce like a hungry puma... on a hobo with a ham samich.
I think that's incorrect. It is usually just the hobo and the ham samich, right?

NO, I like it! Like a puma eating a hobo and his ham samich! More predatory.:D

The pumas we have around here (cougars, actually) pass on the hobos and ham sandwiches -- but if you are a doctor, lawyer, or businessman with a Platinum card and a nice car, you're history.:D

yes indeeed....when i see something i like/want (at the right price) i grab it.

HA HA Ha Oh yea!
COL, we do have some fine cougars out on the prowl around here as well.
I am betting that your cougars have a sexy drawl, however.

Watch out for those cougars who will pounce on you and take your funds, boys. ;)

Yes I did had funds to buy that great rare Dimancea revolver. But then I wrecked my car. (back in februari) Bye Bye funds, hello other car.

Yeah, but I am always finding that "special" gun, so I'm back to square 1.

I put money back for OGCA show's. With such a large amount of guns, ammo and reloading supplies available, I always spend a lot at the show. Walked out of the last show with 1200 rounds of 30 carbine at a great price because the dealer didn't want to take it back to Alabama.

I seldom walk around with over 60 bucks or so. Years back I was sure to keep a small handfull of penneys. I had a GF that had a super hyperactive daughter. I would give her a penney a minute for every minute she could shut up. She never made over 5 cents straight!

I have a stash of cash, but I have to keep moving it to new hiding spots as they wife figures if she finds it she can spend some of it. :)

Yes I do. I have a savings account just for gun purchases, one for car repair and one for other emergencies. We also keep cash in the safe for those times when cash is king and can always resupply it later.
Lately my gun fund is low on money but I'll take the cash from the safe for gun shows. I've bought much of what I want already so usually it comes back home with me.
I've used overtime money and layaway many times in the past for guns too.

Two years ago I set a personal checking account for myself and another one for my wife, outside of our normal household account. We each get a small chunk of my commission payments and any money in those personal accounts is our "no questions asked" money. She can buy whatever the hell she wants with hers and same with me. Best thing I've ever done. Actually used mine today to buy my 15-22 :-)

Of course! I have managed to keep back fourteen dollars and fifty nine cents. Looking for a 3 inch 65 in like new condition w-box, paperwork and tool kit. Anybody know of one for around that price?
