I got these stocks with three nice sets of S&W pre-war large medallion stocks awhile ago (sorry they are gone). First thought was a nice set of stocks ruined by someone and they may well be. Was taking a closer look today and thought I should seek some help. They appear to be nice wood, maybe circassian walnut. The medallions may be added as they sit up above the wood. The interesting part is the large diamond that might be some sort of inlay. It is finely done and has a beveled cut. There is no grain and it appears "soft" almost like leather. Any ideas on these?

The 3 holes in the back opposite the medallion usually identify them as a factory stock. Their way of installing the medallion into the wooden grips for some time.
The large diamond inlay,,I don't know what material it is but I assume aftermarket installation.
