Everybody has one, why not show them?...J-Frames

Picked this up this weekend, Smith 642-2 Talo, Performance Center its was used but only five shots thru it. Great deal couldn't pass it up. The wife has been hinting about wanting to get her carry permit, no excuses now :) Now I am on the hunt for new grips, holster and a carry purse. Ha, like I need a excuse to buy gun related items.

Isn't it great when your Wife wants a CCW & you can buy things for her?
Might want to let her pick them out?

My 340PD rides in the Mika pocket holster most every day.

I should not be surprised at all the beautiful J frames out there from fellow forum members, keep it up. What I am surprised is that I have not played in this forum more so because I get caught up in everyone's treasures. I would like to play so here are three of mine; Ill call them your non-traditional J frames, Chiefs Special Targets.

don't this guns bulge the heck outta your pants when pocket carried? I mean, they aren't really that small

Loose trousers are a must, but from a distance it isn't really noticeable. If printing is a concern, a piece of cardboard or plastic will smooth the outline.

Less than you would think if you're not wearing skinny jeans or yoga pants. Additionally, people don't pay close enough attention to other people being too wrapped up in their own little worlds (made worse by cell phones and tablets these days). I've had people talk to me for 10 minutes before they realized I was open carrying OWB a 4 inch S&W Model 686-6. Other folks who have seen me on a near daily basis at work for months have shown surprise when they finally tumble to the fact that I'm not wearing a Glock like my other officers.

I was just taking quick photos to archive serial numbers and general condition for my files and then realized the backdrop I ended up using... had to laugh...

it is a 36-nothing I got as partial payment for a car...

That is nice better than cash. I really like those older Smiths, the ones that haven't been made in say 20 years. It's an era we won't see again!
Thanks for sharing.

My 638-3, my LAST in a line of .38 Bodyguard J frame revolvers...because I'm keeping this one...

This has custom made rosewood grips and a Tyler T Grip, and came to me when I noticed it as I was selling something else...
A very accurate well made J frame. The holster is an old - probably '60's - clip on, probably made for a J frame.

That's a great package! Those grips are perfect with the 5" shrouded barrel. They didn't sell very many of those!

Although the grips are J frame targets.

Early combat stocks w/medallions and smooth.

Also there's these combats, checkered:

Or smooth:

The Modern Combats are also rd butt, with finger grooves and checkered:

And these:

Just a clarification, the second picture from the bottom is one I took of a revolver I had, and the grips are NOT factory S&W. They are from Thailand and fantastic for the price.

Also, for content, this is what happens when someone spends years carrying a gun with those hip-grips and I can only assume no undershirt (the grips that came on the gun were hipgrips).

Next to no finish left on the steel parts, but the action is great and it will make a nice cheap beater.
