Here is my model 37-2 and my Model 38. Thanks for starting this thread. There are some great looking J frames here.

I just got the model 38. The serial number is 432JXX and it has the pinned barrel. Can someone help me with a date of manufacture?

Shooting it with the larger grips is night and day better than the factory rubber boots.

My latest GB find. 640-1 with Forged Parts and no lock. Pretty much unfired. I just added the XS front sight.

My two... A 36 no dash dated to 1968, and a 637-2 I purchased new in 2007. Both wearing Ahrends Cocobolo "tactical" grips.

I shortened and recontoured the hammer spur on the 637. Enough purchase for thumb cocking if desired, greatly reduced snagging potential from the original squared shape.

Just got this one buttoned back up yesterday after a quick polish job (as in all day Sunday and Monday - can't say I didn't labor on the day off). This is my daily carry. Most of the time holstered in a bag, but if I need to leave it, I can just tuck it into my waistband with the Barami Hip Grip. Holster is an older Brauer Bros.

J frames

Just switched these 2 over to Ahrends. The 642 is a Gemini Customs Pocket Protector gun. Just shot it for the first time today, was surprised how much the porting tames the recoil, special and plus p special ammo. Pleasant to shoot compared to a un-ported 642.
It recently replaced my stock 642 as my daily carry gun, a little birthday present from me to me.

My favorite j-frame and every-day carry piece, a 1969-70 mfr'd 2" RB model 36. I've got a set of diamond-checked magna's with pachmayr grip adapter, Ahrend boots, Uncle Mike boots, & badger boots for it -- it usually wears the Badgers. Haven't had it all that long, but one of the reasons I like it best is that the matte-blued cylinder, bobbed hammer, smoothed & radiused trigger (including the tip), and trigger job (including Wolff spring kit) were all done by me.
