Has anyone had experience (good or bad) using Rusteprufe Nitro-Solvent & Rust Preventing Oil? The company & product has been around since 1934 and is based in Sparta Wisconsin.
I've cleaned and wiped with it for years and it works great, but always worry about the long-term affects of any product on collector firearms.
First tried it because there is little or no odor. Before I built my reloading bench in the basement I cleaned my guns at the kitchen table. I love the smell but Hoppe's was never very popular with my wife so I tried another solvent ... think it was called Shooter's Choice ... that was so pungent I was run completely out of the house.
I don't see Rusteprufe in the stores but then I can't find BreakFree-Collector either. It's easy to order on-line direct from the company. Google it for a link.
