Bodyguard 2.0 is slowly replacing my J frames

If you carry with no round in the chamber (like Honest Outlaw does), the answer is yes. If you want a round in the chamber, you will want a pocket holster (which I use). In that case, the answer is "how tight are your jeans?"

Everybody has got to know their limitations!!! If you don't carry with a chambered round, you might as well not carry. If you get into a situation where you need to pull your pistol for self defense you are not going to ask the THUGS to wait while you put a round in the chamber. You might have tobe fightning someone off of you or running and taking cover. Also it takes 2 hands to safely chamber a round and you want to be pointing the pistol in a safe direction while chambering a round. Get the BodyGuard with the manuel safety but PLEASE DON'T BE CHAMBERING A ROUND WHEN YOU NEED IT FOR SELF DEFENSE AND SHOOT A BYSTANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd be leery of too-soft pocket holsters, or any holster that might get tangled with the trigger when reholstering.
Alabama makes good Kydex ones, which protect the trigger.
A 340SC remains the hiking gun (first couple three chambers loaded with snakeshot), but the BG2.0 has become the 'all the time'. I have two of them, and shoot one more than the other, with .380 handloads.

Dang, I never once thought to use a mouse pad. Used my suturing skills and made a perfect pocket holster for a 637. Great idea.

Sorry- I refuse carry a pre-energized striker gun with no manual safety in my pocket.

So get a BG 2.0 with the safety like mine.
I personally think a pocket pistol with a 2.5 to 4.5 pound trigger pull needs a thumb safety. The flapper safety on the trigger does nothing to prevent an AD if a piece of clothing catches it when re-holstering whether pocket carrying or belt carrying.
I know the best way to re-holster a pocket gun is to take the empty holster out of your pocket, insert gun, then push holstered gun back down in the pocket, but a lot of people will not do it that way for several reasons.
One caveat: the thumb safety on my BG was so stiff it was practically unusable. After flipping it on and off 7 or 8 hundred times over a 2 week period while watching TV it loosened up enough to be useful.

As much as I like my Glock 42 .380, I think I like my BG 2.0 a little better. It’s a little bit thinner.
Am still keeping the 42 though. Very easy for me to hit with and is utterly reliable with all the different types of ammo I have tried in it.
I see now there is a Custom Shop version of the BG 2.0 out there now.
May have to get one of those.

Same here. The BG2.0 is smaller, flatter, and holds more rounds. But the 42 is a great pistol.

So im a huge J frame fan, but since I received my Bodyguard 2.0 it has stayed in my pocket over my J frames. Its the 1st auto I have found that draws almost as smooth as a J frame. Both at work as a bug & off duty it is just a breeze to carry. It shoots very very well & with 11 or 13 rds its really hard to carry my J frames anymore. Is anyone else having similar observations? Is this really the J frame replacement? What's everyone's opinion. Just FYI ive been carry assorted J frames for over 20 years.

If you are a LEO this is a pretty good endorsement of the Bodyguard 2.0.

Depends on pocket depth, width of pocket opening, and how tight your pants fit. With relaxed-fit pants none of the above are usually a problem.

The BG 2.0 may be the best small handgun ever. And I love my J frames.
The BG 2.0 is a pretty good combination of almost all of the most desirable features of a deep-concealment handgun.
I am thinking about getting a second one.

Haven’t had a chance to take them back to the range yet. And like someone already mentioned, just work the safety a few thousand times watching tv. I will loosen up.
