Hello,

I have a new S&W 327 TRR8 and I am considering having a titanium cylinder installed. I called the Performance Center and they won’t give me a quote over the phone. They said I’d have to send the revolver in for a quote, then if I accept they bill $90/hr for gunsmithing time, a $45 range fee, plus whatever the cost of parts is.

Does anyone have a rough idea of how many hours it would take one of the PC gunsmiths to fit a cylinder and about how much a titanium 8 shot 357 magnum cylinder would cost me? I’ve never had a firearm modified by the PC, does anyone have any stories they’d like to tell (good or bad)?

Thanks!

I just got my TRR8 back after installing a cylinder with all the cylinder parts. Total cost was a little more than $250 including the cylinder. My cylinder was stainless.

Some don’t want to hear it, S&W will say I’m wrong, but the truth is the truth. The real Performance Center was lightning in a bottle and it ceases to exist. It’s literally been disassembled. It is a branding now, it’s S&W public relations and it’s a “feature level” on some new products. The real Performance Center hasn’t built a firearm since roughly 2010.

Probably doesn’t help you much, but it is the truth and the truth matters.

Tru dat. Shame too. My dad was a Ruger man to the bone but even he knew that a S&W PC build was something special. This was a few decades ago of course.
Good luck with your quest.
