For many years, my favorite S&W was a Model 40 (I prefer the Model 37 now, and perhaps my favorite is the improved Model 56, AKA 2" Model 15), but the 40 sounds so ordinary.

having owned a 69 Road Runner I couldn't agree more.There was a post like this a year or so ago but I am a starving carburetor rebuilder for 40+ years. I like to hear the moan of a strong 4 barrel motor. Two is better--like Pro Stock in NHRA.
