Export - ITAR question

Hi guys,

I have a question about the export of certain gunparts.

I know there is a restriction for certain gunparts, but I also know that some parts are export free.

I've been looking for a new barrelshroud for my 15-22, I came across the website of Kineti-tech and they are awesome. However they dont export their items.

I want to ask someone if they can help me with this (with a small compensation for their troubles), but I dont want them to do some illegal stuff.

I think you need to find out if the barrel shroud is on the munitions list. I suspect that it is not, but I don't know that for a fact. Were I you, I would try to contact these guys: US State Department - Policy - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Div VI - Small Weapons and Firearms. Has names and numbers to call.

You could try the US Embassy. They have people for ITAR. They, in turn, could forward the question to the DOS in Washington for the answer. In the Embassy, it is the Economics Section, and within that, the Environment, Science, and Technology Unit, I believe.
