Wanted to purchase a extended mag release but could not find one that was in stock. Finally stumbled on a LF Arms web site. What a quality part they produce. Could not believe their customer service and shipping. Ordered piece at 10:00 CST on Saturday and it arrived here today Monday May 05 at around 10:00 Is that fantastic service or what? Took about 2 minuets to install and it performed flaulessly. If any one is looking for an extended mag release for a M&P I would highly recommend the one built by LF Arms. they can be reached at WWW/LFarms.com and you can order right from their website

Yes, the CORE mag release is larger than my stock M&P-9L and I do not have to change my grip to release the mag. Additionally with the Pro Series CORE last year, the grip texture changed and is a bit rougher. Both of my CORE'S WERE MFG. IN 2013, about 6 months apart.
I carried S&W .357 during my LEO career, and would have enjoyed carrying a M&P-40 by todays standards.
Good luck & enjoy.
Jim

Some of the sanctioning bodies have limits on how far the mag release can project above the body of the grip (IDPA specifically) so what I did to "skirt" this issue was to remove the shroud that surrounds the back part of the release. This makes it much easier to release the mag because my thumb doesn't have to reach around the shroud to push the button. The pictures below show both sides to compare the difference.

Core mag release

Hey everyone, I can't get anywhere on the LF Arms website, not sure if it's still in operation.I realize this is a pretty old thread:o. Has anyone found a Extended Mag Release that'll work on a MP-2 CORE? I don't compete, so I'm not concerned about how far it extends. Thanks for any help! Mike
