I'm looking for a diagram which shows what position the little slide which locks the cylinder release while the trigger is pulled on my Model 629-5 goes.

I can see the slot it slides in and where it's pin goes, but the gun just won't go back together with it in the orientations I've tried. It seems to shoot fine without it, but, I haven't tried it loaded for bear.

I'm a little confused are you talking about the bolt? Part #4 in the diagram?

I believe its the Endurance Package latch that prevents the cylinder from unlocking under heavy recoil.
