Got my two factory Shield Plus Triggers today from Freestone-Armory & installed them in my Shield 40 Performance Center 1.0 in a M2.0 frame + installed the other in my M2.0 9mm in a 1.0 frame, trigger pull was improved on both, but it is better in the M2.0 frame due to the overtravel stop in the frame...
Both triggers were 100% NEW from brand new stripped frames
I think the next thing will be to buy one of those frames from them plus an extra magazine for $75+ S&H & tax = $101...
Took a few photos, here they are...

I just purchased a Shield Plus in 9mm. Unfortunately, it has the horrible 10lb Mass compliant trigger. Even though I'm LEO exempt here, I couldn't get the "normal" SKU# anywhere. Don't even think I could send it to S&W for standard trigger install. This might be the answer.

I would love to know how they increased the trigger pull to 10lbs
I know how Glock did it with the NY Trigger part but not these M&Ps

Was this with or without the thumb safety? The Shield plus I tried with thumb safety felt like about 5.5lb. pull.

Mass M&P's have an increased trigger spring (it's red) to accomplish the heavy trigger.

Guess the morons don't realize a 10lb trigger can make you more likely to miss your target and hit an innocent.

Rosewood
Don't even get me started.
The other day I saw somebody asked why they wanted pistol braces banned and the answer was that they make it easier to shoot the weapon more accurately.

What? You can't make this up.

Because what we really want is LESS accurate gunfire? It's almost impossible to believe that people like this can tie their own shoes.

Good informative post. I've been getting M&P bits from Freestone for a while too. Great store.

I assumed either the trigger return spring or striker spring OR both had increased ratings to get the triggers pull weight up to 10lbs
I also assume putting a standard spring in would somehow be illegal in Mass.??? OR~~~
These springs would be easily acquired IMO...
I have a couple extra in my stash in fact

Not illegal. Converting to a "free state trigger" is a common mod in MA, and a pretty easy one.

IIRC, to make their "acceptable" roster, you either have to have an external safety or a horrendously heavy trigger pull.

Plus trigger in a 2.0 shield

Is that pretty easy to change out?

YES, just drive out the two 1/8" roll pins & remove sear housing & also the locking block & trigger assembly, swap parts & reassemble, fairly simple & the greatest addition to each pistol...

These triggers were/are available on eBay from Freestone Armory
Search for S&W M&P SHIELD PLUS Trigger Assembly Return Spring Shoe 9mm 30sc super 1.0 2.0

As long as you have some kind of slave pin :)

As long as you have some kind of slave pin :)

I tried one with a homemade slave pin from wood with one end tapered & using a smaller punch to line in up from the other side worked out better for me to get the trigger pin back through
SEE the ORANGE ARROW of the Slave Pin in the bag with trigger, turned it in my slow Dremel, made from a bamboo chop stick :D
These are very easy to work on & really only takes a 1/8" roll pin punch & a hammer to strip the frame
The slide requires removal of the rear sight in order to access the striker safety plunger & spring, which is fairly easy SOMETIMES
They are known to be a tight ft on the front & rear sights

Notice you have the 2.0 PC. Does it make a huge difference with the flat trigger? Thought PC models already had an upgraded trigger! Or you just do it for the look and personal feel? I would be doing this on a non PC 2.0 with integrated laser. I do have a Plus OR and it’s def a better trigger than the 2.0

The feel of the flat faced trigger is better than the curved hinged trigger to me.
The take up the hinged one has is an issue too
PC Models have a lighter return spring, so you want to keep that piece with your transplant of the trigger
The 2.0PC you see is a 1.0 PC 40 Slide & barrel in a 9mm 2.0 frame with a Plus Trigger with all PC springs & parts including 2.0 striker with 10 degree angle, I carry it a lot, Love the 40 & its trigger pull is SWEET too!
It has the R sear with a different angle on the bottom where the trigger bar engages the sear

Keebz did you just buy that last Plus Trigger from Freestone Armory?
It was the last one they had BTW, for now
They will be parting out more very soon
They have sold 72 of those now, mine were 69 & 70 IIRC
They showed ONE Earlier & Now Its Gone...

I made mine out of a piece of 1/8 in. metal rod I got from home depot for a like 2 and a half bucks. I cut it to size according to the width of the block and beveled both ends with with a cut off wheel in the Dremel.

Anybody who could get that assembly back in the frame without one would be my new hero. :D

Yeah, it's a bummer that you have to take the sight off to get at the striker block. I rounded and polished mine in a drill motor. I have extras from Freestone.
