Unleash my anger monkeys and have them screaming and clawing at the back of my head for days…

Confession: I was gullible to watch about fifteen minutes of “Battle of L.A” only to notice I meant to be watching “Battle L.A.”… I didn’t notice the tiny “of” in the title. All I have read about the real deal is good reviews. So I was confused by this travesty of cinema to say the least until I realized I had played the sucker. The real movie is not available in Netflix. It is however available in my local Red Box. So my question is this:
WHY DO THEY DO THIS???

There is always some alternate title that if you just aren’t paying enough attention you will fall for it. It just feels like such a rip off and I would have thought copy right laws would prevent this trash. I know the bust is on me for not paying attention but really why should we even have to put up with this? I barely keep up with what is in the theater anymore since we bought our plasma TV. So when I hear there is a new Predator movie out and I see “Predators”and “Predator vs. Hunter” I shouldn’t have to read the back to make sure I’m getting the right one. It’s an attempt at marketing via false advertizing and it should be illegal. If I ever meet the people in charge that put this junk out I am going to be arrested. I’m just curious if anyone agrees with me or if I’m just flying off the handle yet again. I’m not for yet more gov regulation and don’t think we need the cinema branch of government. Don’t take what I’m saying that far. It should just be a rule to not knowingly put out something that is made to look as close as possible to the real movie and just make this minor change in the hope that someone will miss it. I raise the B.S. flag and call shenanigans on this.

That's nothing, what I really dislike are all the different movies named "Security Device Enclosed." The first time I watched it, it was a great action flick, but every time I open the box it os something completely different (but not, so far, Monty Python). Sorry, I couldn't resist.

This isn't soothing the anger monkeys. On the contrary.

This thread isn't what I thought it was about...:)!! I read the title too fast!

Cheers,
Sam

Ha, this reminds me of an old 'All in the Family' episode (younger posters may not get this) when Edith took Archie to see a film she thought was titled 'Carnival Knowledge', thought it was about life in the circus.

Caj, I'm REALLY GLAD that I missed the Private Ryan;s whatever.
Please, Please, don't include a link!!
A fellow I once knew said he was in a carnival movie, but didn't have
a copy with him! I wonder why....?

Back in the UK there was an uproar when some parents picked up a copy of "The Sword and the Sorcerer" for their kids when they meant to get "The Sword and The Stone". I have never seen the latter, a kid's animated flick, but I certainly remember the former and its opening scenes where they raise a witch called Xusa. The walls coming alive with screaming faces and skulls was not for children.
