Farrant checkering

Just received a set of Farrant grips from gold40 and had to show them off. Could this fellow checker or what?

Great stocks. I had Fuzzy make me a set in the early 80's when he was in West Covina, CA. I had them on a no dash 66. Sadly, both the gun and the grips are long gone.

I think I'm in love!! Those are some beautiful (and from the looks of them, very comfortable) grips, gdogs. Wewaslim, I wish I had been around waiting for the set you sold... my 66 no dash would sure benefit from some competition running shoes like those!

Yep, super comfortable. I've found that to really fit my hand, I need grips where only the top of the backstrap is covered.

As he has reported in other threads, a few...several.... years ago, forum member "Joe Kent" cold-called a Farrant he found in directory assistance who turned out to be one of Fuzzy's sons.

The son said that he had done the checkering - in the later years, at least.

SG-688 is correct. When I spoke to Fuzzy's son he told me that he and his other siblings all helped their dad at one time or another. I very much enjoyed talking to him and told him how much I enjoyed doing business with Fuzzy. He too was a good guy to visit with and I was never disappointed with any stocks he made for me.
