This isn't necessarily about making ammunition for what we shoot, but I ran across this fascinating video on how 3" anti-aircraft shells were produced during World War II.
For something so readily used in such large quantities I was amazed at how much precision machining went into these shells - so much so that this particular factory could only produce 1000 in an 8-hour shift.
This is not the most captivating video I've ever seen, but it was mesmerizing to watch how these shells were produced and the work required for each.
