Favorite guitar riffs

Watching the CMA Awards last night on TV there was a kid sitting in with the Zac Brown band, Marcus King. Grandfather played the blues, his father is a rock 'n roller and he has been playing since he could pick up a guitar. I checked him out on the 'Net, he has a solid playbook and can really lay down some notes. You can find him with some Googlefoo, Marcus King, Marcus King Band, YouTube. He is not a bad singer and man this kid can play the guitar! No matinee idol for sure, but just close your eyes, listen and enjoy.

The guitar shops forbidden riffs list:

1. "Stairway to Heaven," Led Zeppelin.
2. Tie for Second place. Lynyrd Skynyrd comes in at number two, but with a tie between "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama."
3. "Smoke on the Water," Deep Purple
4. "Seven Nation Army," White Stripes
5. "Sweet Child of Mine," Guns n' roses
6. "Smells Like Teen Spirit," Nirvana
7. "Wonderwall," Oasis
8. "Highway to Hell," AC DC
9. "Iron Man," Black Sabbath
10. "Walk This Way," Aerosmith

Not really a riff, more like an unbelievable solo....But my god Terry Kath was so good. Just something I was watching at the moment. BTW He died way too young of a gun accident.

This is one of my favorites, and it has a suitable title for this forum.

Boston used to come up with some pretty impressive ones; that or they were artificially produced by some of Tom Volz's impressive sound inventions. You tell me.

We can thank commercial radio for ruining all these songs. Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands but if I never hear "Another Brick In The Wall" again it'll be too soon.
