Favorite J Frame Ever Made?

On a budget? I'd go with the 442, it has a lot going for it, at a bargain price IMHO.

Best one I've seen, the 340pd, if they made the 340pd cut for moon clips, and without the lock. It would be the perfect gun IMHO.

I did not even know about the all black, ported 642's. That is a sweet gun. Ed

I own two model 38's. One is a flat latch made in 1963. The other one was a dog that someone painted an ugly black color. I had it blasted & cerakoted flat black & it looks alot better.

Very nice 642 can you tell me about the holster. I believe my 442 would like that. My favorite are my 442 and my 1984 3 inch 60 and 1978 chiefs special.

This J-frame is a little different from the rest posted and it's only my favorite because my wife likes it and it got her interested in shooting. The target is from her on her first day of shooting. She had a good coach.

Country J-frame & City J-frame

My two favorite J frames. A 1953 22/32 kit gun for the country and a 1990 M-642 for the city.

I like the M-642 over all other J-frame for its weight and "pocket friendlyness", and it does not have anything on it I don't need for self defense.

Of my current five; two 4inch 34s, 640, 337PD and a 60-10........ got to be the 60-10.

Great trail gun and still good for IWB concealed carry.

While it only gets fed .38s and P+ it can take .357s if necessary or in a pinch

Not shown are my EDC 'pocket protectors': 642 & 351PD - necessities!
Starting lower left and going CW:
My 632 Pro has the widest ammo capability.
My 60 Pro is likely #2 in favorites. Capable!
My 5" 63 is an acquired taste.
My bucket list find 4" 651 is an also ran.
My 3" 63 is my all-time favorite J-frame - pure fun!

Tucker Gunleather. I have two. They are very similar. The "Cover Up" is the basic one. The "Cover Up Plus" (pictured above) is reinforced and keeps the mouth opened for easier re-holstering. Carried the Cover Up for years. My favorite J Frame IWB holster. I have a drawful of holster I don't use. Trial and error.
