Favorite K22s

Just for fun, and to kill time until dinner is ready, I took this photo of my two favorite 22's. The early 1950's has been my focus for some time now and I have my reasons. The Masterpiece was shipped August of 53 and the CM was shipped in March of the same year. They both have their boxes, but that is not that important. Post WW II craftsmanship after the factory settled down from war production and I like the satin blue finish of that era.

Those look like dessert!! There is nothing quite like them and the affordability of the .22 is a big plus for plinkers, like me.

I have a 1953CM that's far from pretty. I've fitted it with a 22mag cylinder. There's no guilt in shooting this one.

The nickel one is a 1953, the blued one a 1955. I had to edit this because the previous picture had a K32 in it... how did you eagle eyes miss that.

I have nothing against the pre-war Outdoorsmen. In fact I've been looking for a nice one for quite a while. I just prefer the post WW II/early 50's guns, like these 1954 357's...One of which will be on my tables this weekend.

My favorite is my 1947 (was my dad's - he bought it new in Nov 1947).

I have three generations of K22s... 1st Model OD, K22 CM, and 17-2. Love all three, but the 17-2 is probably my favorite to shoot. It's also a birth year gun for me.

My favorite, gets shot at every range trip. My 617 gets more range time now, but I still run a couple of cylinders through the K-22.

Serial number K2414. It belonged to my father in law's hunting partner. It has a bit of pitting on both sides of the frame where it sat in a target shooter's box. It was ordered while Bill was still in the Navy and waiting for him at the local hardware store when he returned from WW II. That's a Myres McGivern style holster with it.

17-6 4", just a great gun. Newer than most shown on here (and newer than the other K22's I own), but shoots just as well as any of them,

17-1 from May 1962 I stumbled over on GB, no one else bid and I thought there must be something wrong with it and there was....


It wasn't mine. Apologize for the oil smudges, better than rust divots!
