I would like to start a thread about favorite and exotic liquor.

I'll start this discussion with the discussion of by a bottle of liquor gifted me by our son, and daughter-in-law this Father's Day; ST-GERMAIN ELDERFLOWER LIQUUOR.

For ages, Elderberry bushes, have, provide a variety of things for folks to use.; An ancient, successful, remedy, for upset stomach, is tea, brewed from dried blossoms of the elderberry bush. Ripe elderberries, make excellent, beautiful deep red wine. Native Americans, removed the pith from the limbs, of the bushes, and made pipe stems, whistles, and flutes from them, to mention a few.

What are your favorite liquors?

On our recent trip to Italy, my girls and I got hooked on Limoncello spritzers, with Prosecco. So refreshing, we brought some home in these Italy-shaped bottles.

Single malt scotch. At last count I'd sampled more than 700 expressions.

Smoky, peaty ones are my favorites.

Fully matured in sherry casks (as opposed to American white oak bourbon barrels) is often a plus.

George Burns said it best: "I like to sing, and I like to drink scotch. Most people would rather hear me drink scotch."

Hexengeist. But I don't think the Austrians export it to the US.

George Dickel 12 Tennessee whisky. I buy (or receive it as a gift) in the 1.75L bottles and transfer it into empty .750L bottles so it is easier to pour. Problem is I have over 100 casino bottles of Jack Daniel's for which I have lost the taste.:(

There are bonded versions of Dickel which are fine, but can't touch the 'ordinary' 12 IMO. On a side note, poster Absalom is responsible for my descent...

I'm not really any exotic liquor guy myself- mostly run of the mill stuff. In the summertime I mostly drink Tanqueray in Gin & Tonics (though sometimes lately it's been Hendrick's) and in the fall and winter bourbon. I usually drink Evan Williams in its various forms but like Elijah Craig Small Batch and High West American Prairie Bourbon as well.

Bourbon man here. I've got dozens of different ones I enjoy. In the summer I also like vodka on the rocks with lots of olives. I guess the most exotic would be Jack Daniels Sinatra Select. Yes, it's Jack but super duper smooth with a fantastic rich flavor. At $200/bottle I save it for special occasions.
