My 9mm Shield. It's one of the first ones, carried it for over 5 years and it's got thousands of rounds threw it. I feel naked without it. LOL

My S&W mag fed carry gun says Sig p365 on it's side. I carried a Shield and always liked it. Still do. But once I tried the 365, I put the Shield to the back of the safe. The Shield is a great gun, make no mistake, but the 365 just carries better.

My favorite mag-fed CCW is a Smith and Wesson Model 3953 in 9mm or a Model 4053 in .40SW. Both are DAO.

Why? Both models have a 3.5 inch barrel, both weigh about 2 pounds loaded, both are easy to carry IWB, both are accurate when I do my part well, and I get an excellent combat grip when drawing.

I started my handgun shooting career with revolvers so I'm comfortable with double action only pistols. DAO is more worry free for me in a must-use situation.

Of course its the shield plus. No need for an over priced European betta gun just to hold 10 rds.

M&P .40 or 9c.

S&W 4513TSW early production. My all time favorite carry gun. Regards 18DAI

Absolute, bottom-line, all-time favorite is the 3913. In all variations, I have 5 of them. A close #2 is the 4513TSW. After that, the 457, 4516 or CS45 in no particular order. The metal-frame S&Ws are light-years ahead of any plastic guns. But if I could not obtain one of the 2d or 3rd Generation Smiths, I'd go with S&W M&P Shields. IMO they are superior to anything that starts with a G even if the capacity is less (at least, until recently.)

Customized Full Size M&P 9mm V1.

1. 100% reliable
2. Very accurate
3. Easy to shoot well
4. Normal capacity on board + hi cap back up
5. Easily concealed AIWB
6. Parts, accessories, and holsters are easy to find
7. The caliber has adequate power, easy to find, and has many options for training and carry rounds at reasonable (relatively) prices. I carry Barnes TAC-X 115 grn hollow point all copper bullets.

Each individual's needs and capabilities are different. I carried a smaller gun in Thunderwear when I wore a suit for work every day, often removing my jacket. Now that I am retired, I wear untucked shirts to cover the larger pistol. I find AIWB conceals easily, it's fast, it's controllable, and (hopefully without starting a mis-direction side thread) IMO it is the safest way to carry well concealed (over six years now).

I chose an RMR with co-witnessed iron sights as a fast sighting system that allows me to focus on the threat and get good, fast hits. I almost never see the iron sights. I cannot focus on a front sight any more.

I do have a V1 Shield 9mm set up similarly, and it carries even easier. Because it is smaller and recoils more, I don't shoot it quite as well as the larger gun. I carry it less than 5% of the time. I think the Shield's a great carry gun for many people, however, it is interesting at the range to share with other shooters how I carry the larger pistol. They are always impressed.
