I know that the Model 1076 has been discussed here at great length. Some great info and pics have been shared.

Does any have a FBI SWAT issued Model 459 in their collection? Any one know how long the FBI used these?

Any one? Some one must have some thing??

i think the field officer tact teams had tyhem remember the miami shooting the one agent ron riser had one and he was on that team.
i dont htink that headquarters hrt team had them they had nopvak tuned browning hi powers

Jerry Dove, Ron Risner & Ben Grogan all had the 459's at the 1986 Miami Shootout. All three were on the Miami FBI SWAT Team.

Aren't the 1076s the only FBI semi-autos to have "gotten out" from under the auspices of the FBI hence the draw?

Model 459The S&W Model 459 was an updated version of the Model 59 with adjustable sights and checkered nylon grips. This model was discontinued in 1988. Eight hundred three units were produced in a brush finish with special grips made to FBI specifications.

SCSW confirms 803 were made for the FBI. IIRC, these were made for the FBI SWAT teams. The HRT had the Browning HP at that time.

There's one on GB right now that COULD be one.

Palmetto Sharpshooter is it the one with the laser unit attached to the trigger guard?

I thought the grips looked different. Regards 18DAI.

This may be a late reply because I just found this site, but I do have a S&W 459 I got from an agent when they changed to the 40 cal in 1993. I bought both his issued weapon the 459 and his Glock 19 backup. He had 4 mags for each plus holsters. When he found out he had to purchase a new backup weopon in 40 cal he decided to sell both of them. There is not a laser in the grip but they were spec'd out special for the FBI.

crgaine, just to be clear, you purchased a S&W 459 "his issued weapon" from an FBI Special Agent. Is that correct?

crgaine, any chance you can put up some pics of the 459? It'd be nice to see the differences between the fed spec'd pistol & a standard, thanks.
