Which would be the better round to carry in my bug?
My bug is a M36 no dash. I am not worried about wear.
These rounds will only be fired if needed. Or would the
135 SB gold dot be better?

I won't give you the least expensive option, but an accuracy/POI pitting all three against each other will let your gun decide for you. All thing equal I like the Speer, then Remington and am unexcited about the federal load. We've discussed it here more than once, and others I respect feel different about the 147 +P+.

I had heard they came out with the 147 +P+ to equate to the 147 grain round most PD's were shooting out of their 9MM's in the late 90's. I also heard/read they did not really reach true +P+ velocities. I personally use the Speer 125 or 135 +P's currently, but would not hestitate to use the old standard 158 LSWCHP +P rounds either. I do have a box of the 147 GR Hydrashok +P+ from when we used to use them.

nothing has been prooven on the street to work better from a J frame .38spl than the Rem. 158gr +p LHP.

sure some work as good on the street but not shown to be better, and the new loads work well also in their short history.....and on paper, well im not swayed by those reports.

once a round has prooven itself on the street to be a level above, i will consider the switch, until then i will stay with what has worked for a long time.

then again, if you cant hit accurately and quickly with said round it wont do you any good, so how well YOU shoot with any given round should be the deciding factor.
