Federal 5.56 at walmart today

I don't worry about junk like that. It's links and reports like that is what send people into panic buying and hoarding. Things start to calm down, then bam! More **** on the news about homeland security buying 1 billion rounds and everyone panics. I don't follow the sheeple. People paying these crazy prices for ammo and guns. They are the ones messing things up.

Wow....I'm lucky. The range I belong to allows anything up to 50 cal. No tracer/incendiary, but they let you throw anything else down range. The backdrop actually has a sort of waterfall running over it, to nix sparks and wash out lead. Very high tech.

Main reason,it helps keep the lead dust down.

One good thing is the general public will be well stocked with everyone hoarding everything that hits the shelves, just in case.

While the lack of ammo is real ( I haven't seen .223 or 9mm in over a month around here) I can't believe this statement pulled from your first link:

'With the delay in ammunition, some departments are limiting the number of rounds they carry in their handgun because of the shortage of ammunition,' said the Jenks,OK police chief.

I'm trying to buy ammo. If I see it I'll buy it. Why? It's not available! I have 40 rounds of the most expensive .223 ammo because that's all I could find 5 weeks ago. I haven't seen a single round since then. :(

I checked with a officer buddy of mine in a small town in the northern section of the state and he said they are indeed having supply issues.

What state might that be? I have also talked to different friends That are LEO in several states. No real problems where they are. I have enough ammo to satisfy my needs. I could buy more at local retailers, but I am letting the people who need some have a chance to buy. If everyone did the same, maybe we would all be able to buy ammo and not have to worry about when the next box will be in. Just sayin....

Overheard the sales person at our local Walmart say he received some 420round cans of .223 and was allowed to sell it by the 20 round box rather than the can. One to a customer sounds good but I would like to have scored a 420 can. In any case it was all gone when I was there.

Wisconsin, small town, probably don't keep big city stock on hand. Pretty much like the towns in the news article.

I haven't seen a round of .22 in 8 weeks. Not a single round of .223 in five weeks. Every Walmart I check said they get NONE. I have been checking the stupid Walmart app three times a day for two weeks and no Walmart within 50 miles ever has ANY .223, .22, or 9mm.

I check Fleet Farm, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, and every gun shop around.

Wisconsin isn't getting as much ammo as other states.

The can I got was the 5.56 green tip stripper clips.

It's not just Wisconsin that has the ammo shortage. It is the same here in West Virginia as well. I was at Cabela's in Charleston West Virginia on Friday and they were out of 22 and 223 ammo, no pmags, no 223 brass, no small primers- no large primers as well and no 22 bullets for reloading. What a wasted trip. I won't be back until next fall at least.:(

No .22 LR to be found at local Wal-Mart, Dick's, or Academy. At the gun show this morning, all .22 RF I saw was priced at $100++ per brick. I don't need anything that badly, as I have about a 10,000 round stockpile. In fact I think I will not go to any more gun shows until the madness subsides. Very little there is less than double what I would pay for it. Even back-of-the-pickup truck grade handguns for $400 and up.

I think I have 450 rounds of 22lr. I guess I could dig out the 617-6 and shoot 25 rounds a week. Gonna shoot em real slow.

We have one LGS that has almost everything in stock...had sold out of 5.56 and reloading dies, but had .22 (4 kinds), .223 (7 kinds), 9mm, .40, .45, .380, 10mm, everything i needed almost...had pmags for 35 (i passed on those), and at least 20 ARa in stock from smith, sig, dpms, bushmaster, and colt...prices on ARs and mini14s were still a bit high along with the mags, but ammo wasnt too bad of a price...

Wive and I are planning a trip to NC. this May I am going program all the LGS's I can find into the GPS and go on a ammo hunt, might be fun. Anyne want to start suggesting their favorite LGS drop me a PM please S.E. Wisconsin to Moorseville N.C.

I scored 3 packs of Winchester 22 LR 333 round value packs for 14.87 a piece last week at my walmart. I've picked up 850 rounds of 9mm in the last 3 weeks at Walmart at very good prices and last Thursday I scored a Colt LE6920 AR, also at Walmart for a killer price. Ammo is very hard to come by up here in the Pacific Northwest. I look at my local Walmart 2 times a day and sometimes hit another one that is about 10 miles away.

last friday walmart had federal come in - in 5.56 in 500 rounds to the case. selling for $155.00 plus tx. 20 cases! I saw them. this was at 7:30 am and when I went back to get stuff for dinner I stoped by and yep all 20 cases were gone. I do not have a AR. Or else I would have bought a case that morning.

You've bought 2,000 rounds and you say ammo is hard to come by?

We have none in Wisconsin. None.

Is there a way to expand the search to include all Walmarts within like 1000 miles? I'd like to see what 'In stock' looks like on my app....

I think you can type in a different town like 50 miles or so away and it will search within a certain radius. I know this worked for me when I typed in a town that was an over an hour driving time away while looking for 22 ammo. I was looking for 22 ammo and none of the stores in that area had any either. This makes me think that WVA is right there with Wisconsin.:D Misery loves company I suppose.:D I finally got lucky and was able to order some off of the internet.
