Hi guys,

I am really having a hard time finding bullets that are on the approved list for the M&P 15-22. First one store only had the Remington golden bullets and today I went to a different store and all they had was the Federal Auto Match AM22 rounds. Will the Federal's work better in my gun than the Remington's, or should I just set them both aside and use them in my 10/22 and keep looking for bullets on the list? It must be the time of year or something but is seems like stores can't keep any 22's in stock!

Thanks

I 've had the best results; Accuracy & Reliability... are above par with Federal plated hollowpoints. I've won action 22 cal. matches ... with that exact ammo.

Buy 'em and try 'em.

FWIW, there is NO approved list of ammo; there is a list of recommendations, and that's ALL it is - a recommendation.

Even though S&W doesn't recommend the Remingtons, there are lots of 15-22 owners on this forum (and off the forum, most likely) who shoot them with no problems. Also, lots of folks shoot AutoMatch and like it.

The only way you will know if your particular 15-22 likes or dislikes a particular ammo is to try it.

I tried a box of the Federal Auto Match in mine. Results were fine, but still below what I've come to expect from the Federal 550 packs. I'd say about every 50th round had some sort of failure, whether it be failure to feed, failure to fire, etc. All in all not a bad round, but I still much prefer the Federal 550.

I have 9 different .22 semi-autos and every one of them function fine and are accurate with the Federal Auto-Match.

My 15-22 has never had a failure with that ammo.
