What's everyone's opinions on federal "champion" ammo. They have good pricing for 357 ammo in my area. What's everyone's opinions on it.

I shoot a whole lotta Federal Champion & Lake City manufactured Federal bulk, CCI/Blazer, PMC, Prvi-Partizan, Fiocchi, & IMI ammo. I buy which ever of the aforementioned in the caliber and grain loading that I need at the time and can find for the cheapest from SGammo.com because they all perform stellar. Federal Champion has never caused me any grief and always shoots well. However, within the last year I've started shooting an ammo brand that I before was so snobby and wouldn't dream of shooting thru my semi-custom and very nice 1911's, CZ's, Vintage Smith revo's, or my premium AR-15's... Wolf "WPA" steel cased ball ammo in every caliber & platform I've shot it in has been eyebrow raising... Great! Accuracy grouping, consistently, within FPS/Velocity specs, and reliability. For range fodder... I can confidently recommend every single brand of ammo I've mentioned.

I'll happily use all of Federal's products and use their "Personal Defense" loadings in all my firearms. Their Champion line gives me the worst groups of all their offerings, so if your Bullseye shooting, I'd keep an eye on that aspect.

Federal in centerfire has worked fine for me (I'm not a competition guy, if it stays properly on target at 25 yards, I'm good).

Not so for rimfire. Their .22 is pretty much junk in my experience.

Over the years I have tried Remington, Winchester, and Federal in my handguns. Of the three I prefer Federal brand ammo because it seems to be loaded slightly hotter and gives better performance in their line of defensive ammo.

Federal Champion Ammo is sold at WalMart around here. Our thing I will tell you is if you reload ammo, the .45acp uses a small primer instead of the big primer like everyone else. So you just need to be aware. I've had a problem with one box. Federal sent me a mailing label to send the remaining ammo to them and then responded with a new box twice the size of what I sent to them.
