There is an ammo company I know of that only ships (stated policy), but if you are local, can call and pick up to save on costs, for example.

I have noticed there are some FFL's who advertise just about any gun you can think of as available. But their inventory at their FFL business location is slim to none. They place an order with their distributer after you bid and pay. What you might think is some huge gun shop / warehouse is actually some guy sitting at his kitchen table with a computer.

Some shops in Pittsburgh were charging $50 three years ago

Tanners is charging $40 for incoming and $50 for outgoing. Been that way for years now. He is good about multiple guns.

Also there are 3 FFLs right by me that will not do face to face on GB auctions. All work out of warehouses.

Once one of them I bought from drove the gun to his brothers gun shop a 1/2 mile away to save me shipping. Even the brother was shocked he did that for me.

I use Larry's Guns and Ammo in Bunnell. He use to charge me $40, but the past couple years only $30.

Not sure if he still charges others $40. I do give him a ton of business.

My FFL guy works out of his house, pick up and ship. $10 transfer and $10 plus postage for shipping a firearm. a great guy to do business with. When I'm notified a firearm has arrived. I call and ask when I can pick it up, usually the next day after he does his paperwork.

Drop shipping allows FFLs access to lots of inventory without much capital, while sacrificing total control over the customer experience.

I once transferred a bloody skull to a guy in a busy convenience store parking lot in broad daylight.

I'd have loved to see the busy body Karens getting their hair up over THAT scene

My FFL dealer works out of his house. He charges $10 for a transfer. He provides great service to me so I always give him $20 and box of factory .45acp JHP ammo. He loves to see me coming!

I’ve contacted local sellers twice and they were more than happy to do a face to face and even lowered price on item. Neither gun had a bid on it.

Our range does transfers for $25, have used them 2 times and gladly give them the business.
