I just purchased and installed a fiber optic front post for my MBUS sights. Turns out these use any standard front post. You can view it on from midway at this link: Mounting Solutions Plus Standard Front Sight Post AR-15 .040" Fiber Optic - MidwayUSA. Comes with sight adjustment tool and 3 different color rods (red, green, and yellow). I used the green...it is super bright outside! I got it sighted in and hit an empty 12 gauge shell first shot at 30 yards :) Sorry to be a tease, but i will have pics of it soon!

Removal and installation of front sight

Hi, I'm a new member to the forum. I have read a lot of the threads and the fiber optic sight interested me. I have the MOE version and the removal of the original sight and the installation of the fiber optic sight from Midway is my first question. How is that accomplished? Is it easily removed? I have shot several hundred rounds of various 22's thru the gun and I love it. I like to shoot black steel targets and the front sight disappears on the steel. Any suggestions, instructions or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Or you could just paint the front sight post, about any color you want. I
prefer white. The wife gave me my very own nail polish bottle.....Most gun solvents and oil don't seem to bother it............best regards Plum

I went with the HiViz FO front sight instead. Less than 1/2 the price of that one and has a longer FO pipe so I think it is slightly brighter.
On another note I bought 2 of them but found out that the Dueck off axis sights seem to use a proprietary thread pitch or thread diameter on the front sight post so it could not be used on my 3-gun Stag Arms AR. Might try changing the thread slightly with a tap because they look like the same pitch when compared side-by-side.

To answer your question, TAPCO makes a five pack of various different sight post colors. And it is available through multiple retailers. The existing sight post is removed with the little black tool found in the bag your chamber lock came in. You can then replace it with the color that best suits your needs.
