Found a used shield that had a front red fiber-optic sight. Was wondering if anyone has something like this on there cc weapon. I would think the constant drawing & reholstering of a gun with a fiber optic front sight would not hold up well. Am i wrong??

Holdsup fine I have two ccw with green fo fronts and there easy to change out but have one set on for two years and works great. Carried it every day for two years till I just got a bodyguard and went with same type setup. 9 year old daughter shoots with both eyes open and prefers the single f/o as do I, good vision and knows it the left.dot. Also at night with flash light it's very effective like car dash not two distracting and still visible.

A lot of competition shooters used them and they thousands of presentations out of holsters and I have never come across any complaints about durability.

My only complaint with FO front sights is with the ones that come on the M&P Pros. There is something with the design that breaks the FO every few months. The guns that have other brands FO, never any issues with the rod breaking, only the Pro's.

When I had my Pro it fell off the first time I shot it.

That is one possibility of breaking, but it's not like it disables your gun from working the moment it breaks. Easy fix, so enjoy and worry about more crucial things like that recoil spring guide rod assembly.

I bought some Dawson Precision rod and installed it per instructions in my Pro and it has lasted 5 years. Better than original.

My wife just put TruGlo's FOs on her Glock 43, and they look great! We did have a gunsmith install them so they are guaranteed not to come out. And they laser bore sighted them for her as well. I liked the look of them so well, I've just ordered a set for my Shield, and I may do the same for my M&P Pro as well.

Aside from getting smudged from shooting, I haven't had any issues.
Definitely no breakage.
Cheap and easy enough to replace the rod to keep it nice and bright.
