Location
Portland, OR
Sitting here waiting. The Oregon Air National Guard is doing flyovers in F-15s at 1000 ft. elevation at approx. 400 MPH. Hitting several locations in the Portland area. Can't wait to see them and hear the sound of burning freedom juice! Anybody else gonna get to see our boys fly over your town?
Gonna be too far for pics. I'll just have to remember it.:)

Well, I didn't get to see them. Neighbors house and trees blocked it. Heard them but with difficulty as the neighbors kid decided to rev his dirt bike in the back yard. They're making another pass on the other side of town. Might catch a glimpse.

I'm reminded of Texas Raiders, a B-17 with a storied past which was permanently based at the Conroe Regional Airport as part of the Confederate Air Force contingent there...Most weeks since its move here in 2017 I got to see it fly over my house on a run from the airport to Lake Conroe and back again carrying paid passengers...The sound of those big radials overhead was unmistakable...Alas it went down in a tragic accident in Dallas two years ago...:(...Ben

They flew over Pittsburgh earlier today. I didn't run outside to see them, but I heard them. Pretty much every Memorial Day and Veterans' Day. Every so often one of those real big planes will fly over to go somewhere. Those ones that look like a blimp with wings & engines. I'm not an aviation professional!

This year? No. But four years ago they flew over a bunch of coastal towns and I was able to take this.

I hear them every day, and occasionally see them, but they're always too far away for a decent photo.

Would love to see those F15's. Back in the pandemic days the Blue Angels did a route through the Houston area. One leg was within a couple miles of us, so I took Mom and my camera out to the parking lot of the retail center right on the path. I got this one.

As we was taxiing into Tucson airport last week I got a glimpse of several fighter jets taking off. It was thru the plane window so it was just that a "quick glimpse". Still made a rumble in my chest and put a smile on my face.

Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson is home to the A-10C Wart Hog.

This one is the 75th Fighter Squadron out of Moody AFB in Valdosta, GA.

My birthday corresponds with Armed Forces day every so many years. We have Fairchild AFB just outside of town. A couple years ago my wife took me to a nice restaurant overlooking Coeur d'Alene Lake for my birthday dinner. I had a great view of the lake and noticed something in the sky. I saw it coming closer and realized it was an F-16 which just about mid lake did a beautiful roll to the West lining itself up for Fairchild. I said to my wife, "Honey you really shouldn't have, an F-16 flyover for my birthday?"

The 140th Wing out of Buckley had two flights on Memorial Day, one for the locations on the front range, the other for those on the western slope. Saw the F16s twice, very heartwarming.

I was at the race on Sunday and the Thunderbirds did a very low pass over the stands. They did it during the National Anthem and it was QUICK! There I was with hat in left hand and other hand over my heart and hardly any notice it was going to happen. I did manage to get a quick video of one plane, of which here are three freeze frames. I’d post the video, but I got locked out of my youtoob account and don’t know of another way of posting it.

I live about 8 miles from Whiteman AFB and one thing or another goes over my house daily. See a lot of Warthogs and some trainer jets. However the most impressive is when a B2 bomber passes overhead at 1500 feet or so

Forty years ago I could see lots of stuff around my home.

Now all the trees and new buildings have made it almost impossible to see
the fire works down town and air traffic.

With the Reno Air Races ending, I don't need to look up in the sky any more ,
unless it involves the Stars.

We were graced with F-22 training from all over a while back near us. I was graced with a unique flyover crossing a small bridge at take off. The two came from a lower altitude at my 2:30. I looked for the second one, and was in awe. He flew up and over me at a low altitude and my heart jumped with joy.
The one I saw coming tilted the wing a little, and was gone in seconds. My favorite trip lately anywhere. It was only a moment, but I wouldn't trade that moment.
