Finally Got A Walther PPK

What a beautiful pistol! Such a nice condition war time PPK.
Here is my PPK built in 1968. I have had it on my CCW since the early 1980's and qualified with it for my CCW renewal last week. Below is my target. 30 rounds at 7 yards. It did okay, but it was at 7 yards!
I inherited a PPK/S from my father but I gave it away to my son, as I prefer the PPK over the PPK/S.attachment.php?attachmentid=534886&...nt.php?attachmentid=534887&stc=1&d=1633064389

I love them. Its not hammer bite that gets me, its the slide riding over my firing hand leaving bloody train tracks.
One of you guys said "too high of a grip". I assure you, there is no such thing as too high of a grip with a semi auto pistol. My hands must just be too big for it.
I still have a PPK though. Beautiful little pistols. Yours is spectacular. You should be quite proud of it.

That is a very nice early one, it would be hard to improve on unless you were to find one NIB.

I have one from 1940, a commercially marked example that has all of the characteristics of those issued to the SS. It falls in the serial range, has a numbered slide and 2 flat bottom matching numbered magazines with the correct type holster.

The 2 below were made in 1966 and 1967, 7.65mm and 9mm kurz respectively. They lack the Made in Germany stamp which indicates that they were bought over in Germany and brought back over here. Both belonged to US servicemen and came with Provost Marshal papers.

I got one new from Interarms Alexandria, VA on the waterfront in the early '80s but let it go b/c it left me w/serious slide bite every range visit.

I have a recently made PPK/S in 22 LR. It is a nice little pistol that is very fun to shoot. I imagine that your original model will serve you well. It also helps that magazines are available again.

Great score, congratulations.

Both my PPK and PP were made in the early 60's. Both are in 380 and both are excellent fun shooters.

Congratulations on your new gun. Your gun is in much better condition than mine from 1935. The original grips (or at least the ones that were on the pistol when I bought it) were cracked completely through, so I replaced them with a set I purchased off eBay. I also replaced the recoil spring with a Wolff spring. It still shoots fine, and I don't find that the .32ACP version has as much propensity for hammer bite as the .380 versions (I have a Interarms/Ranger stainless). The newer Smith & Wesson and now Fort Smith models (which I also have) have the extended tang which virtually eliminates hammer bite, but adds a bit to the overall length, not to mention it ruins the lines of a classic pistol.
