Finally got my MPC 845

Ever since I got my "strange" 745, (turned out to be a Performance Center Special 745, c 1998,) I knew I had to find a @ 1995, non-billboard 845. I did find one recently, but it took a bit for me to get it. It is NICE. I mean fit, finish, and trigger. The 745 is super great, but I am amazed between the two. The wait was worth it, not to mention the money I saved.

I still need to get out and shoot it, and compare it to the other large frame S&W .45's I have. Should be fun.

Dumb question though, SWSC says it's a 2nd Gen, weird, more like my 4506-1.

Who calls it a "second Gen" ?! The first run was offered in 1995, the short later run in 1998. It uses exactly the same well-known delrin one-piece grip as a 4506.

There are many (MANY!) ways to accurately describe an 845, but a "2nd Gen" is not one of them.

The finest single firearm that I own is my 845. Congrats on yours!

Yep, Earl said 435 between '95 & '97, then the short run "Billboard" ones in '98.

I have an "older" SWSC, not the latest, (no excuse,) that states the weird 2nd Gen reference. Not a perfect source, but we all are making the newer ones better, and more accurate.

I realize it is a 3rd Gen, for sure, but with a "touch" of 2nd?? Probably not.
