Greeting folks,

Bought this pristine 19-3 in nickel a few years back and carried it in a Alessi shoulder holster as my Harley riding weapon. After riding though a few T-storms went back to packing my 1911 Springer as the 19 came with the box, all the fixins and was ANIB. After seeing some of your folks beautiful S&W's with the Executioners stags and a Tyler knew I had to have one. Got a great deal on the stags from a Forum member and bought the Tyler, which was beat up a bit. Paid good money for it after practically giving away 4 in the last 2 years as the prices are through the roof. After some light sanding, a coat of primer and 3 coats of Krylon I repainted it. After a long day and night waiting for the paint to dry I fianlly put them together. It's my only BBQ revolver and plan on doing the same to a no dash 4" 57 after Christmas. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions would help me out next time

The old Puma has skinned many a deer since 1978 and is my all time favorite knife.

How do you guys take them beautiful pics with the nice white background? My old porch doesn't do the revolver justice and any advice would be appreciated. I know the chair legs need to go in the last pic:)!

Hope you guys like it as much as I do. Thanks and stay safe,

Roger

very nice,i have all ways had a weakness for good guns & knives.

That's very nice. Love the grips, just enough bark.
I've got a couple of old Pumas, good knives.
Your pics look good. We can't all be pro photogaphers.

Well I think that 19 should be sufficent to get you into most any BBQ around. Very nice.

Nice gun, and the pics are nice too. I don't think you need a fancy light box when the subject is that pretty!

BBQ M19-3

Someone please explain to Me what the term BBQ gun means. Thanks in advance. kingcobra07:)

A Southwestern custom of fellers attending social occasions dressed in their best finery including fancy firearms and rigs.

No self respecting Texan goes to a BBQ without a fittin' firearm in a fancy rig.

That's a beauty of a BBQ gun. As far as getting nice shots on a white background, I use a solid white plastic storage box lid, Canon G11 camera with a 430 Canon flash bounced off the ceiling. The ceiling acts like a large light box, softening the light giving you a much larger light source.

Nice gun. I had one with night sights and combat grips. I was STOOPUDD for selling it. Can you give some specifics on that great looking Puma? I'd like to find one.

Very nice- I like the black rear sight and Tyler T grip combo-it really gives the gun a two-tone appearance. There's nothing wrong with your phototaking skills either- I like a weathered wood background, it makes for great contrast. That Puma ain't half bad either-- :)

Nice combo, Sportster guy. IMHO, your weathered porch ain't bad. Lining up the weapons parallel to the boards ain't gettin' it----BORING ! Try the boards runnin at a 45 degree angle instead. See how you like it. Let me know..........

Gosh I do love them BBQ guns. I have several nickel Smiths. Yours is a great looking piece. I personally think they look better with wood on them, but I have to admit the stags look nice. Nice set up.

What a great lookin 19. I have the same 19 with combats. I want some stags like yours. Anybody got some they want to part with?

That's a great looking pistol and knife combo... and I think your photos are fine. You're one step in front of me - I've yet to attempt to take photos of any of my toys, er, I mean field gear...

I have a Puma still in its original box with all of the paper that came with it, never used, I purchesed it in Oct, of 1987, how much would it be worth today, I am not a knife collector, just have it in a drawer.
Thank you,
M Falcon

Thank you sir and everyone thats chimed in. Bought the Puma years ago (1978) at the Coast Guard exchange in Petaluma, Ca. for $25.00 or $28.00 IMS. Cannot remember the name of the model but it's one great knife. Was lots of money for an E-3 back then. Takes an razor edge and holds it. The stag handle has weathered well, partially I think from staining it with blood quite a few times. It still goes with me hunting but we don't get out after deer like we used to. Saw one similar to it on Flea Bay for $180.00 a few months back. I do more groundhog sniping with my old Savage 10 FP in 308 with a 10X Super Sniper scope (as good as a Leupold IMO) than deer hunting. Combo is deadly to 500 yards easily with some 168 gr. Match Kings.

Very nice gun, I love the stag grips.

Most of the high quality gun pics are done in a light box/tent. You can build one fairly cheap using simple materials.

How to Make An Inexpensive Light Tent – DIY

I can build that! Thank you Dragon. Next rainy day I'll put one together and give it a try.

@one eye joe. Thanks for the tip. Next time I take a pic of one of the Smiths I'll try your advice.

@Iggy. One of your revolvers with Patricks grips set me over the top on the stags and Tyler. Can't remember which one though.

My thanks again to both of you gents and everyones nice comments.

Very nice 19...........I just completed a similar rig myself. Only with Keith Brown grips and a Lobo Improved Pancake.

The Nickel Model 19 Snub is one of my favorite carry pieces. This one is from 1978-79, and bought many years ago for $225 (the old days are long gone):
