I have had it on layaway for almost two months, as I found a S&W 908 semi-auto for a great deal in the in between time and I had to have both:o.

I was able to take it out today and run 50 130gr FMJ's and a few of my 135gr +p Gold Dot HP's for carry as well. It ran fantastic:cool:, and was smooth and accurate for the purpose!! I got a little more accurate with it every cylinder I ran through her. It felt harder but as constant and smooth as my older Smiths.:D

I will be removing the lock and replacing with the "plug" (also doing my 686+), but I will be staying with the S&W black rubber grips that came on it. Even though I do not traditionally like rubber grips for carry, these seem to not be too grippy, and still work well for harnessing the reciol of this mini giant!

All in all I am very pleased with the fit and finish, and also the smoothness and overall handling of this concealed carry revolver. S&W hit above what I was expecting for this peice, and definately a deal for the $470 it ran me.

Here she is!!:)

Have to agree... I love my 638 as well. Mine sat in the back of the safe for years unused / unappreciated and was almost traded for a Glock 19.
What a mistake that would have been... Recently moved from CA to GA, it is now my constant companion and I can't imagine a more perfect
pocket piece. Thumbs up!

I love my 638 as well. I forget it is there when I pocket carry using an Uncle Mike's holster. I also purchased a S&W 459 9mm; a little too large for effective concealment, but a hoot to shoot.

Congratulations with your newest aquisition.

I'm a Bodyguard fan, too! My 638 goes with my in a pocket holster whenever I can't carry my M&P40c IWB. It's amazingly accurate (especially for me), although I have to admit the last time I shot a full box of 158gr LSWC thru it my hand was a little sore afterward.
