Tuesday I finally got a chance to shot my "new to me" S&W SW1911Sc. My wife was in a hurry to get home from my parent's house so I only had enough time to fire of 7 rounds. at 25 yards I hit the target 5 out of 7 times. I need a lot more practice with it as I am used to shooting my Ruger Mark III 22/45 and Ruger Single Six. Both Ruger's are .22 LR and have slightly longer barrels, so I have to get used to the shorter barrel of the 1911. Lately I've had better luck finding .45ACP than finding .22LR, so I shouldn't have any excuses learning this "new" gun.

Thanks for the info. You will fall in love with your new smith in about 100 rds. Best of luck and enjoy.

Very nice! I almost got the E-series recently but went with a Sig instead.

Just got my 1911SC yesterday. Took it home to clean and lube. When I took it apart I noticed that it had no oil or lube anywhere in it. Not a trace.Usually there is some in a brand new gun.

I got to shoot another 70 rounds through the SW1911Sc this afternoon with my wife. It seems to shoot a little low, but I don't know if it is the sights or just me getting used to a new sight picture. At any rate, I need more practice.

One thing to note: I read a few reports of people having ejected shells hitting them in the head or face. I did not have any problems with that, but my wife did. On several occasions she was hit in or around her right eye, thankfully she wears glasses so she was not hurt, just scared. She had a similar problem with our Ruger .22/45 also. Her problem is that she is right handed but is left eye dominant. If she forces herself to aim with her right eye she doesn't get hit in the face with ejected shells. Is there an adjustment that can be easily made to throw the ejected shells out further to the right, or is this something she will just have to live with unless she retrains herself to shoot differently?
