Finding my relative

I want to find out about my nephew but don't know where to start. I have a Grand Niece and want to see her.

All contact has been lost for 20+ years. I can't believe anything I've heard from my brother. He has a way of alienating people.

Last I heard they were in Fl.

Any good places to search?

There is a website called Spokeo that I hear is pretty good.

I'm a Private Investigator, and have some pretty good resources. If all else fails you could contact a PI in your area. I will warn you though, most of us are pretty careful about these assignments with people we don't know, for liability reasons.

I'd start with a search on Facebook for him or any of his close friends or other family members you know. Sometimes you won't find him on Facebook but his friends are, or other family and by contacting them you get to him. Internet search is usually not good, although I did find a friend that way using his name in an Image search on Google.

I have had some luck with the above mentioned spokeo, early on, before they were sued for privacy infringement or some such. Zaba was, or is another of those people search sites I had some luck with.

In looking up old Army friends, if I could ever get the city they live in, then regular old white pages work pretty good.

Most larger newspapers have archive sections of all public records such as obits, real estate transfers and the like. Good luck with the search.

Try Craigslist, there is usually one in every major city, I see ads like this all the time and best of all, it's free.

I found him on Facebook. He's also been arrested and I found him in the clerk of courts.

Update,

I left him a message on facebook back in Nov. This AM he left me a message with a number. I guess we both don't do FB much.

We just talked for about an hour. I have TWO Grandnieces. Ones six and the other is nine months.



He seems like a good kid and I can't wait to see him and my GNs. I can get there in a few hours.

Now to reunite him with his Aunt.

The only thing I would add to this is I wouldn't meet him at my home or even let him know where I live until I knew him, well

Like I said before, He's had some problems. I'm not here to judge him.

His father/My brother is an abusive jerk and the kid didn't get to know our side of the family.

My sister and I know what can happen but feel that there are things he needs to know. Call it heritage, Good or bad.

I'm not gonna rush into things but I hope I can help him see that he has family that still cares.

Money? I was hopeing he could loan me some.

For any future searches-try 1-800 US Search--I used them twice with great success, but they do charge an affordable fee. I cant remember what I paid but wasnt a heck of a lot.

just make sure it is really him. i dont think u can go wrong if he just live a few hours away for a drive . IF it is him it can be very rewarding for u and him and family good luck
