We lit up the farm tonight!...........With great fireworks show.........After we all had eaten like kings........Family.......Good Friends.....And fellowship.......Before the meal and after the Blessing I played Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA......While it was playing My daughter slowly rang our large dinner bell.......It was awesome!

Nature decided to put on a show for the 4th in Green County Oklahoma. Lines of thunderstorms moved through the area starting at 2000 before the 2044 sunset. People found ways to fire off their fireworks during breaks in the lines of thunder boomers or waited until they cleared the area. The rain didn't stop the celebrations and thunder and lightning just added to the show.
Today was a good day to connect with family and friends and remember who and where we are.

Do you do consumer 1.4, 1.4G Pro-Line or have access to commercial? The 1.4G Pro-Line stuff would be really good for a home show. You can buy them at wholesalers a lot cheaper than the regular commercial and you get much higher quality.

I can understand how they may be annoying to some for many reasons, but I still love them as much as my S&W!

I just don't have any place to shoot them anymore.

I will say that there are some folks that are unsafe with them and like my S&W, safety is ALWAYS first.

Bad storm blew through after midnight in Des Moines . Bro in law and I spent 4th July cutting up a small tree , tree branches and cleaning up outside. Plenty of fireworks going off with a few big boomers in area but I don't mind. We grilled hamburgers ,hotdogs and sister made potato salad and baked beans .

I feel bad for all the animals that might be terrorized.
On my grandfather's dairy farm fireworks were absolutely prohibited. Wildlife must go in a frenzy.
People in my area have been shooting of almost nightly. Hard to get sleep most nights.
I consider this area semi rural, not like towns & subdivisions.

It died down pretty quickly after 2030. Anyone with half a brain was being careful as we have had an extended period of extremely dry weather. I ran my sprinklers at 2030 to wet down the yard.

About 0430 I had to hit the head and I could here some big stuff going off in the far distance.

Depending on the news station, Metro confiscated either $20,000 or 20,000 lbs of illegal fireworks in the run up to the fourth.

Out of curiosity I called dispatch to see how many ambulance runs were made over the three day weekend due to fireworks mishaps. As of Sunday evening the count for our county is eight.

Can I have my ball back, please?

Lots of fireworks around here this weekend, had a small rain shower on the 4'th about two hours before it got dark enough to start things rolling. A couple big shows nearby, quite a few here in the village and at the farms around us. Added my share to it all, had fun! As to the animals, my indoor cats largely ignored it, a couple of strays I feed went under the porch but the old one sat on the porch throughout all the noise. Didn't seem to bother him. My daughters dogs didn't have any problems with the noise either but they're pretty chill about noises anyway.

Local news says Las Vegas Fire responded to 106 outside fires and 14 building fires. At least one was the classic “fireworks set light to tree, tree sets light to house” event. Fortunately, there were no burn injuries.

Wife & I drove into town for lunch today, looked like more road kill then normal.
Have to wonder if that is a result of the animals running in terror from all the noise & strange lights in the sky.
