Could I have some help with an adress where I could buy a firing pin for the 952-2? Min broke in the national championship here in Norway yesterday. Bummer!
Please send info if any.

I think you will have to do some serious digging on that firing pin replacement. Perhaps someone here has one, or you could try Gun Parts Corporation or Jack First. I think the real problem will be getting the part from the U.S. to Norway. The State Department has some real serious rules about sending firearm components out of country with some real serious penalties. It's nothing I would want to mess with. I'm too old to start making little rocks out of big ones. Usually certain importers with the right credentials can get certain firearm parts, but you have to find them in Norway.

I don't know what the firing pin looks like for a 952, many times a good machinist or gunsmith that knows his trade can make one if they have the old one at hand. This can be a pricey option if the pin is of complex design and involves knowledge of heat treatment etc. I would start with a conversation at one of your bigger firearms suppliers and see what they say. Good Luck!

Thinking about this a bit more, it could be the 952 firing pin is a cross-over part that comes from another platform. I have no idea if that is true, but others here may know. Perhaps someone with knowledge in this area will chime in and help you out.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I know all about the State department and the rules. But rules are rules. Does anyone know of a blow-up drawing of the 952-2? I tried Brownells but they didnt have it, only the model52. It is said that the 952 is just an upgrade of the 52, but who knows? A scale drawing of the firing pin would be helpfull, if anyone has one? Theres allways someone with a lathe that likes to do hobby work.

I don't even think Gun Parts Corporation has a schematic up of a 952 at this time. They are one of the "go-to" places for out of production firearm parts in this USA. There are a few others such as Outback Gun Parts and Jack First Gun Parts and perhaps a few others I don't know about. I would also suggest watching Ebay and Gunbroker for this item. At least with Ebay you can put in a continuous item search and they will alert you when the item you want is listed.

Unfortunately, I am not a Model 952 owner. They were always above my pay grade and by the time I could afford them I got into Sig P-210's which I prefer now. I still have to wonder if there isn't another firing pin from another model S&W pistol that will work in your pistol, say like from one of the 3rd generation 9mm's. I wouldn't be surprised if one did but without having a sample of the 952 firing pin I really couldn't say. If you have a part number for your firing pin at least you could make an effort to see if it fits other models.

Sorry I can't be of more help in your quest.

Thank you for your reply. I dont have a parts number and S&W replies that they cant help since I am a customer from outside the USA. Go figure, a parts number og drawing is illeagal! Oh well. I keep looking around.

There are several members here that have 952's, I am sure one of them must have an idea if the firing pin for a 952 is an interchangeable part with another model. I would 99.9% think so, but with S&W ya never know.

You might try contacting the company that modified the S&W Target Champions , a European model , from a 5in to a 6in . I know he works on others , like Sig's , and he's a true craftsman . If anyone in Europe can help you it's probably this guy .

I know they have a website , but I don't speak or read German . Look them up and contact them .

Thank you very much. I will try.

I have two different 952 pistols. If I am the first to be able, I will pull one and pull one from a 5906 and find out.

However, at the moment I am 400 miles from home 🤣 so it will take me a minute.

I can tell you right now that a 39/59 firing pin will not work. The 952-2 uses a firing pin lock. The 5906 does also, however it is actuated differently than a 952-2 firing pin lock actuates.

So if nobody else gets to it, I hope to post again probably late Sunday night.

I see your comment on the firing pin lock, I believe this is a work around. The big question is, will the pin from the 5906 fit in the 952???

The news is in…

And the news is FANTASTIC!

I pulled firing pins from my 952-1 (2002 build date) and also from a VYZ-prefix 5906 (1994 build) and these firing pins are the same part.

So which is which, you may ask? Well it doesn’t matter 🤣 however the one on the left with perhaps a little more finish wear is from the 952-1.

So go find basically -any- 3rd Gen 9mm firing pin and you should have yourself a quick and easy replacement.

Fantastic!!! Thank you so much!!! Sudenly there is a silver lining and a smile breaks through 😄

While I understand the market is much different in Europe… finding a 5906 part has to be so much easier than some obscure, low production item.

If it helps, this firing pin should cross with all the S&W 3rd Gen 9mm models and that list is so long that it’s almost silly to type it up here.

But I guess we could at least mention the super popular models produced in great volume:

6906, 915, 3904, 3906, 5904, 5946, 908… and many, many more.

Gives me confidence that the standard 3rd Gen .45cal firing pins are what’s in our PC Limited .45 guns also. Maybe that’s my next project… pull some of those and give them a look.
