I have noticed on my 1980 model 629 no dash the firing pin seems to have some kind of resistance or spring under it when I wiggle it up and down. On the other hand my 1973 model 66 no dash pin just flops up and down with no feeling of a spring under it. Is this normal for the 66 or is something amiss with it? It shoots great so I figured it was ok. Any thoughts from you guys that know?

Some models do have a spring to keep the firing pin is position, but I know of no rime or reason to which ones did or didn't. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will come along and know the whole answer.
