This gun wasn't in too bad of shape, but I had always wanted to shine up a stainless revolver so I picked up some mother's mag polish and spent a few hours in front of the TV with an old shirt. I was really impressed with how it turned out with such little time invested into it. Wish I had some better pics but will get a few.

All I need now is some good wood grips to make it really stand out.

Nice looking Smith and good work polishing it out. Yeah, you really need to ditch those "goodyears" and put some wood on it. Again, great looking Smith.

VERY NICE! I polished my 67 no dash w/ Flitz. Probably the same results. There are many grip sources out there for some nice stuff. I just got a set of Thailand grips for my 28. (through ebay) There is a thread here about them. The wood is unusual on mine, which is what I wanted. I had to do minor fitting one of them. The end results are very good, but haven't shot it yet with them on. Bob

Looks gorgeous!
I picked up one for my wife a couple years ago that was an absolute wreck.
Randy at Apex checked it out mechanically and I spent a few nights polishing it up, turned out very nice. Shoulda saved some "before" pictures.

Nice job. I'm one of those folks who really like a highly polished gun.

It looks good, I love stainless because it is so easy to alter the finish. I generally prefer polished, yours is a beauty.

I also like Hogues on my guns.

I really need to try my hand at polishing this 648:

Mothers works great!
Here are a couple of my 500 after around an hour of hand polishing.

NICE JOB!! Definitely worth the effort!!

I own two 4" 686 no dash models. One is a "safe queen" and the other is a "shooter". When I bought my shooter it had a lot of minor scrapes and scratches. I went-to-town on it with Mother's and it turned out really nice. My safe queen is a ANIB beauty. This one will keep its original dull appearance. I love the look of both of them! :D

Here are some pics...

LAS&W4me, yes. Flitz and Mothers Mag Polish work very well on nickel guns. Just do not press hard and use a soft cloth to polish and buff out. NEVER put a polishing tool on a nickel gun. Post pics when you polish it out.

Wow, I prefer the "shooter"! Clean Break

I really like the SS guns because you can buff out the imperfections - unlike the blued guns.

One caveat; once you get them really shiney like that, if you 'attention focus' on it - then all the smudges which will invariably appear will bug you.

On mine, if the factory matte stainless finish is intact and it isn't scratched up, then I won't use anything more than polish on it.

Will do. Thanks for the advice

I picked up some Mother's polish today and this stuff is amazing. Here's my Model 15 after an hour. Sorry for the cell phone pics
