Back in 95 i bought a 9mm Sigma. I belive this was one of S&W's first attept at a poly gun. It had no slide lock, no sights, no safety and a pinch magazine. After many jams and the mag dropping out of the gun I put it in my safe and forgot about it. This past May, 2015 I decided to sell it. I listed it on GunBroker. I got an email from a guy who wanted to let me know that if I sent it back to S&W they would send me a new gun. I sent it back and told them the problems I was having. They sent me a letter to call them because they no longer make parts for that door stop and they destroyed my gun. I asked them to send me a Shield, and they did. I was real happy. Just putting this out there for those of you who might still have one of these really bad guns !

Sigma

It was far from a collectible and was unsafe to shoot. I do like to shoot the guns I own. I couldn't even sell it for $200.00 with a holster ! LOL

That sounds like a good deal from S&W. I've got my eye out for one of those old Sigmas at a pawn shop!

The Sigma's are at most Houston gun shows.

You just needed a better holster!

The SW9M was a good idea at the time that somehow failed in execution by S&W - and yes, they want them back. I've returned two over the years myself.

Like in many areas S&W was ahead of their time. The SW380 and SW9M were so far out in front of the slim 9mm and pocket 380 craze it's almost like they had a crystal ball. As jsbethel said the design (and the materials used) needed more time, testing and consideration before production began. Had S&W not been in such a hurry those guns would have turned out a whole lot better and could have lead to a much earlier boom in the pocket gun market. But they were also a stepping stone that lead to that very same Shield they sent you.
