Just finished some handloading a little while ago and used my first 100 Ginex small pistol primers using a LEE AutoPrime. Some history: I'm one of those guys who liked loading S&B 9 x 19mm cases that many didn't like because of the tight primer pockets. We all know that primer pockets expand over time, so it just wasn't an issue for me. I mention this because I've seen similar statements about the Ginex primers fitting tightly. I segregate 9mm cases into 3 categories: Thick, Thin and Winchester Type which includes the older style R-P, SPEER and Federal. I loaded 100 total with the thicker cases including some S&B, new style R-P, Aguila (which vary in thickness), PMC and others that aren't too thick like PPU and CBC. I had absolutely no problems, and I like the fit, but again, using the handheld LEE AutoPrime. YMMV with a progressive. Next will be the range test with the 124 gr. JHP (1.132”/28.75mm OACL) we use for Range loads because in a pinch, they could be pressed into service for defense. These loads are charged with some W572 I have remaining, but I'd already planned on a .1 gr. Powder charge increase where previously 10 rounds (with CCI500s) chrono'd 1140 FPS with an ES of 32 and an SD of 9. My suspicion is that W572 is wanting a bit higher charge to improve standard deviation. 9 is not bad, so we'll see if it improves, and our range loads average around 1155 FPS. I also made a box of 50 with the .1 gr. Powder charge increase but with CCI500s for direct comparison.
