First gun confiscation in NY

that's awful, but whats with the gimbal belt. did he just get back from a fishing trip and forget to take it off?

I feel for those living in states like NY, NJ, CA, and the like. It's a damned shame that tyrants exist in the USA.

We should never stop fighting for freedom.

Don't forget to include the Peoples' Republic of Maryland in that list...

Under our latest gun laws, the M1-A National Match Rifle and the Pardini Olympic target pistol are banned. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

It seems to be true for 100% of the NY State police who were assigned to "monitor" the rally in Albany and followed orders to prohibit even toy guns used for demonstration purposes. Wouldn't you say we seem to be pretty near having the government the framers of the Constitution were fearful of when that type of control is exerted over the people? Watch the youtube video the OP posted in case you haven't.

No we are not NEAR. the government our Framers feared. We have the government they feared!!!!!!

We have a distorted view of things when seeing them from inside this type of forum. I say that because even with our differences, we are all like minded people. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. Because we are all hard core 2A supporters, it's easy to lose site that the vast majority don't have the same mindset.

Most go to work because they have to. A small percentage really love their jobs and do it just for that. Even so, all of them are trying to provide for their families. Therefore, they are going to do what the job requires. This means they aren't thinking of lofty ideals of protecting 2A or 1A rights. They are simply thinking of earning a day's wage and going home to dinner. As such, they do what their superiors tell them.

Being able to work tomorrow often holds more power than the ideals in the constitution. So, when an average Joe is told to go do something, he isn't thinking about whether or not that order is legal, he just wants to keep his job.

This is what we're up against more than anything else.

Maybe you have the distorted view.

The Teacher at your local High School did not take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies foreign and domestic.
Every one of these " Officers of the Law" did.

Easier said than done. My mother is 80 and fighting cancer. My wifes mother is 88 and in failing health. Wife and I both have good jobs that we like with good benefits.

I'd love to leave, but it just ain't that easy, Engineer1911.

Nothing worth fighting for is easy.

Sadly, you are correct but it wasn't always so. Things have changed for the worst but if they can change for the worst ,they can "change" again for the better! That is my hope and prayer anyway's.

Part of the problem is that we're comfortable. Sure, there are poor and homeless in the US, but they are a tiny minority. We have homes with air conditioning, grocery stores with 78 different kinds of cereal and 14 different kinds of milk. Convenient stores that are open 24/7 and they are never out of stock of what we want.

We have much to lose. So, most choose not to fight because of what they will lose.

We should never stop fighting for freedom.

Well, yeah, once someone starts fighting for freedom he should never stop.

Or did you mean "We should never stop FILING for freedom"? 'Cause we're doing that. We're filing all up in this byatch. Yeah, break me off a piece of that!

A very proud moment for the Troopers of the state of NY.

They were probably disappointed they did'nt get to tase
the guy as well.

Cuomo and Bloomberg had to be so proud.

Glad i live in a free state.

Chuck

They moved the rally a couple hundred yards away from the last two, I heard the state got tired of replacing the lawn. ;)
I didn't see any snipers, but maybe they saw me.

I am talking from experience those are the Sharp Shooters on the roof tops. You never see the Snipers! :D

God help our children. Entry in a 21st century history blog: "The Eastern Bloc of government controlled states progressively disarmed the local population while installing a high tech security perimeter around the Capitol in preparation for the suspension of archaic constitutional rights. Monitoring devices in the guise of portable communication and personal computers were used to identify and track dissenters and their social networks. Employment, utilities, financial services and vehicle activation were denied to anyone found not in compliance with the new Statutes of Progressive Regulation and Social Re-Engineering." ... sounds like science fiction, the Hunger Games or the Book of Revelations, right?
