Today--CHUYS in Corpus opened its doors to the public for the first time. People started waiting as long as an hour before openeng. I was first to get out of the car and go stand by the front doors. About 100 lemmings--0er people, quickly followed suit.

I havent eaten in a CHUYS since July 2011 in Austin, and the food was as good-or better than I remembered. The plae seats 300-and was filled completely soon as opened. Some of ya deprived citizens might think "big deal" but it really is a big deal. I also want their Chuybacca, Juan Solo and walking dead tshirts.

Chuys is the go to restaurant for my wife and myself. We haven't been there lately because it is near a large mall and it is shopping season .I am ready for some Tex-Mex though been back from El Paso a few weeks now and am needing a green chilie fix.

My wife and I had to go to Austin on business in 2012. I ate at my first chuys there and immediately we were addicted. The closest one around here is Charlotte. I was in Tampa on business last year and drove to Orlando to eat at one. They are that good and if you like tex mex and are near one it is worth the money to stop in. I wish they would put one in Greensboro or Winston!

None in my area. Not usually a fan of chain restaurants regardless of cuisine. Best TexMex here is in a converted gas station with grandma doing the cooking.

The first time I ate there was when I was in the midst of moving to Austin from Houston. I was chilled to the bone-a wet arctic front had blown through the day before. Anyway, I had their nachos-ad warmed up nicely. Ive been hooked since. In Austin, I ate there at least 300 times in 18 months.

Sunday, I have a date with Sabrina--who wants to go there -- so ill be getting her about 10--cruise around awhile since she isnt out much--but should be good to go Sunday.:)

I'm with Bigwheelzip.. I had to look them up SURPRISE!!:rolleyes:;)there's one about 4 miles down the road.. TACO Friday here we come!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Their tacos are good but, for a first-timer, I HIGHLY suggest getting their fajita plate-you will NOT be disappointed. Also-try them ay happy-hour--get to the queso bar before its wiped clean from others.

They open only 3 restaurants a year--and are not incorporated. No telling where they build the next one at? CHUYS likes to open in Colege/Military towns--or cities with at least 300,000 population.
