Stopped by my local shop the other day and saw this Model 28-2 in the case. It had the (matching s/n) box and some papers with it. My wife said "That's pretty. You should get it." I hemed and hawed over it a bit but she kept insisting I get it. Darn hard headed woman, always twisting my arm and making me bring home these lost Smith & Wessons like they were kittens or something. It's got a little wear I suppose, but it's not beat up too bad I don't guess.

The shop could at least pay her a commission or something.

I have no use for these huge framed guns......but I can't stay away from them. I just bought a 1973 Model 57 this weekend. Congrats on a great pistol, and what sounds like one heck of a woman. You might want to have that arm looked at.LOL

Shes a keeper,both of 'em. I had a HP years ago. Only reason I got rid of it,my ex-brother-in-laws dad wanted to trade me his M-1 Garand for it. But,things are looking up,I found another one. Will be here in a few days. Only thing different about it, is its parkarized. Will work great for a field piece. I'll post some pics.

Yep, You Got a Good One There

While it applies to both, wife and gun, I mean your S&W. I bought this Highway Patrolman in 1980 as an all around gun for practice with 38 specials and protection with 357 magnum rounds. I've really enjoyed it. Taught my wife and kids to handle pistols and shoot with it. And it has allowed me to replace fear with caution a number of times when I've had to be in fearful circumstances that were beyond the immediate reach of the law. As I use it for utility, I replaced the grips soon after buying it and it picked up a little rust in the years I lived on a boat. But its durability and accuracy continues to convince me to put off getting a 9mm. As for your wife, its your turn to convince her to buy something... can't have our spouses walking all over us like this.
